Upload and reuse media

A shared library for the images, videos and documents you send. Upload once, use anywhere — template headers, broadcast headers, and attachments in Chatbox.

Steps

1. Open Media.
2. Drag files in, or click to browse.
3. Use them: anywhere Wap2b asks for a picture or document you can pick from the library instead of uploading again.

What WhatsApp accepts

These are WhatsApp's limits, not ours. A file outside them is refused at send time even if it uploads fine.

Getting images right

• Compress before uploading. A 4 MB photo squeezes under the limit but is slow on a phone with poor signal. Under 1 MB is a good target.
• Landscape works best for template headers. Portrait images get cropped in ways you cannot control.
• Keep text out of the image. It cannot be resized, translated or read by a screen reader, and it is the first thing to become unreadable on a small screen. Put the words in the message body.

Documents

The filename is what the customer sees before they open it. invoice-10428.pdf is useful; Scan_20260721_final_v3(2).pdf is not. Rename before uploading.

Where media is used

• Template headers. You upload a sample when creating the template; the real file is chosen per send. See Create and submit a template.
• Broadcast headers. If your template has a media header, each broadcast picks the actual file. See Send your first broadcast.
• Chatbox attachments. Inside an open 24-hour window you can send any supported file directly.

If something goes wrong

• "Unsupported file type". Check the table above. HEIC and WebP are the usual culprits.
• It uploaded but will not send. Almost always size. The library accepts more generously than WhatsApp delivers.
• The image looks wrong in the message. Aspect ratio. Try a landscape crop.
• A file you deleted is still on old messages. Messages already delivered are not affected — they were sent to WhatsApp at the time.
