Add funds to your balance

Wap2b is prepaid. You put money into a balance and messages are charged against it as you send them. There is no monthly fee and nothing to cancel.

Before you start

You need a connected channel before you can add funds — a WhatsApp number, with its payment method set up. Until then the Add funds screen tells you what is missing instead of taking a payment. This is deliberate: money on a balance you cannot spend helps nobody.

If you are not there yet, see Connect your WhatsApp number.

Steps

  1. Open Recharges.
  2. Enter an amount, or tap one of the quick-pick chips.
  3. Optionally add your GSTIN if you want a GST tax invoice in your business's name. It is checked as you type; only a verified GSTIN is used.
  4. Check the total. For Indian accounts, 18% GST is added on top of the amount you chose — see below.
  5. Click through to Razorpay and pay by card, UPI, net banking or wallet.
  6. On success you return to Wap2b and the balance is credited immediately.

How much you can add

Three rules apply in every currency:

  • Your first top-up has a lower minimum, so you can try the platform without committing much.
  • Every top-up after that meets the standard minimum, which is set to keep the payment gateway's fee down to a sensible share of the transaction.
  • Amounts are whole numbers. No paise, cents or centavos.

The figures for your currency, which is the one you chose at signup and cannot change:

The Recharges screen always shows your own limits beneath the amount box, so you never have to look them up here.

If you need more than the per-top-up maximum, run the payment more than once, or open a ticket and we will help.

Tax

Indian accounts pay 18% GST on top of the amount they enter — it is added, not taken out of it.

Choose ₹1,000 and you pay ₹1,180. ₹1,000 is credited to your balance; the ₹180 is tax, collected and remitted, and never spendable on messages.

Get the tax invoice in your business's name

Add your GSTIN before paying. It appears on the tax invoice, which you can download afterwards from Orders. Adding it later does not change an invoice that has already been issued.

Every other currency is charged no tax by us. The amount you enter is the amount you pay and the amount that reaches your balance, and you get a plain invoice rather than a GST one. If your own country requires you to account for tax on an imported service, that is between you and your accountant — the invoice from Orders is what they will need.

Where the money goes

Nothing is deducted at top-up. The full base amount sits in your balance and is drawn down message by message, at the rate for that message's category and destination country. You can see every movement in your wallet.

If something goes wrong

  • "Add funds" is blocked or greyed out. No channel is connected yet, or your number's payment method is not set up yet. The screen names which one. See Connect your WhatsApp number.
  • The payment succeeded but the balance looks unchanged. Refresh. If it is still wrong after a minute, check Orders — if the order is there, the money is accounted for and we can reconcile it; open a ticket with the order number.
  • "Minimum … to add funds". Your first top-up gets a lower minimum; after that the standard minimum applies to every top-up. See the table above for your currency.
  • The amount was rejected as invalid. Top-ups must be whole numbers.
  • You need an invoice for a payment you already made. Download it from Orders. See Invoices, receipts and refunds.
