Connect your Instagram account
Instagram runs alongside WhatsApp in Wap2b — the same dashboard, the same prepaid balance, the same team. Connecting takes a couple of minutes.
Before you start
Your Instagram account must be a professional account — Business or Creator. A personal account cannot be connected, and there is no way around it: Instagram only exposes messaging and publishing for professional accounts.
To check or change it, open Instagram on your phone and go to Settings → Account type and tools. Switching is free, reversible, and does not affect your posts or followers.
Steps
- In Wap2b, open Instagram accounts.
- Click Continue with Instagram.
- Sign in on Instagram when their window opens.
- Authorise Wap2b to read and send your direct messages, and to manage your comments and posts. Instagram lists exactly what it is granting — read it.
- You return to Wap2b and the account appears in your list.
That is the whole flow. Nothing needs configuring afterwards for DMs and comments to start arriving.
You are still the owner
The account stays yours. Wap2b holds an authorisation you can revoke at any time from Instagram's own settings, and disconnecting here does not affect your posts, followers or anything else on the account.
What works once it is connected
- Direct messages land in Instagram Direct.
- Comments on your posts appear in Comments.
- Publishing photos, carousels and reels from Content, now or scheduled.
- Insights — reach, followers and profile views.
- Automatic comment moderation, if you turn it on. See Moderate comments automatically.
When an account disconnects
Instagram authorisations expire, and they can also be revoked — by you, or by Instagram if something changes on the account. When that happens the account is marked disconnected in Wap2b.
While it is disconnected: nothing sends, nothing publishes, and no new messages arrive. Existing conversations and posts stay where they are.
The fix is always the same — open Instagram accounts and connect it again. Nothing is lost.
Check it after changing your Instagram password
Changing a password or removing an app from Instagram's connected-apps list can end the authorisation. If Instagram goes quiet in Wap2b, this is the first thing to check.
If something goes wrong
- "Professional account required". The account is still personal. Switch it in Instagram's own settings, then connect again.
- The Instagram window closed without returning. Nothing is saved halfway. Start again from Instagram accounts.
- You connected the wrong account. Instagram signs you in as whoever is already logged in on that browser. Log out of Instagram, then connect again and sign in as the right one.
- Messages stopped arriving. Check the account is not marked disconnected. The inbox also has a Connection health panel showing when the last message and the last webhook actually arrived, which is the quickest way to tell "nobody messaged us" from "something is broken".
